Blackmagic introduced 1295$ Pocket Cinema Camera with 4K RAW: Blackmagic Design has introduced a new version of its Pocket Cinema Camera, and it comes with some big improvements for the 4K video.First of all, the new Pocket Cinema Camera 4K can actually shoot in 4K, unlike the original version, which was limited to 1080p. Like its old model, the new model can record that footage in 10-bit props or 12-bit raw; but unlike its old model, it can record directly on the external drive with USB-C type, which is a big advantage while recording the very large 4K RAW files. The new version is about to launch $ 1,295 (more than $ 300 in original) later this year.

While the camera is small for a cinema camera, it’s not small at all – and it’s definitely bigger than the older version. Instead of a 3.5-inch display, this new model makes room for 5-inch display behind. The old model was close to Super 16, while it includes a full-size micro- four third sensor, while. This will be helpful for the depth of field and low-light (which are already spots on micro-four-dimensional cameras), while still using any lens from the normal lens mount used by Panasonic, Olympus, and others.

Cameras offer pro-grade tools and options dramatically at a lower cost to pay for all the true cinema-grade cameras. Although it is less special, because these features revolve around a camera like Panasonic’s GH5, while Blackmagic’s line continues with a clear focus on the needs of video and video-shooters.

Blackmagic professional video equipment, from the camera, is known to create the industry standard color grading software, to broadcast the device. It is releasing small cinema cameras in the price range of less than thousand dollars for the last five years, which is taking advantage of one among amateur and low budget filmmakers.

The latest Pocket Cinema Camera 4 has a ton of features, which appeals to the market – such as a mini XLR connector, support of LUT and 4K recording at 60 fps – but still there are limitations in the camera the viewer (who is fair, is true of all types of cameras) will keep limited.

In fact, unless you are a film producer who is usually under the control of light and filmed in the entire environment, then this camera is probably not for you. It does not have stabilization of the body, and the small sensor will have to struggle in low light and the adapter will need a depth of field you get from full frame or Super 35 cameras. It does not make any difference to some filmmakers, but it can be an issue for people on fast shoots or go to unfamiliar places.
