Now mobile numbers will come with 13 digits, not 10 digits. After 1 July 2018, the new number will get 13 digit mobile numbers. The Ministry of Communications has issued instructions to all the states in this regard. BSNL has also started preparations for this. According to official sources, a decision has been taken in this regard in the meeting held in Delhi in the last few days.

According to sources, in the meeting it was said that there was no scope for new mobile numbers at the level of 10 points. For this reason a series of more than 10 digits should be started and later all the mobile numbers will be made up of 13 points.

All service providers will have to update their system after the new number of mobile numbers comes. In this regard, the order has been issued to all the circle telecommunication service providers. According to senior BSNL officials, by December 2018, old mobile numbers will also be updated under this process.

According to sources, the 10 digit mobile numbers currently running will be updated from October to 13 digits. This work will be completed by December 31. However, it is not yet decided how to change the currently running mobile numbers. 3 digits will be added to the numbers in the numbers or in the end.
